China...the new super power

You  shouldn't think that these Chinese guys are
Stupid and they don’t know the negative impact of a neutral policy.
They know it and I have a very strong conviction that they will work
Upon it. U should know that China is in a state of transition from an
Industrialized nation to a technological country (Maturity stage) which is the last stage
Of dev’t according to Rostow. This means that China,
1.       Has to maintain a constant increase in finances to support this
exclusive and challenging stage of R & D. China can only guarantee
An uninterrupted increase in revenues by maintaining a neutral policy
In the affairs of the countries where it has mega investments. We have
For example seen a decrease in Egypt’s loyalty to the US after US taking
Sides in the Egyptian revolution where it supported the actions of the
Military to retain power after the fall of Mubarak and increase in loyalty
To China. These are some of the challenges that China is trying to avoid
By opting for a neutral foreign policy rather than a confrontational one.
There reasons to as to why these guys are working on a well-built and responsive
Army. Don’t think that it’s for fun. Time is coming when it will have to play a stern
Role.
2.       China is not threatening any neighbor of hers especially Japan as you argued steve unless if you are
Telling me that u don’t know the history of the Asia-pacific region. Let me give you an
Example, China is clashing with Japan over the small Diaoyu Island bse its now powerful
And has the muscle to reclaim what was hers. You read about the Japanese occupation
Of Manchuria during World war II, right? Its during these escapades that Japan annexed these
Islands and had never returned them to the rightful owner. As a state, China has every right
To protect its territorial integrity by reclaiming these Islands. So this ceases to be aggression
But a matter of sovereignty. In the South China sea, China is to some extent right and wrong
In a way that if Taiwan ( an island that China considers a renegade province) claims some parts
As its own, then China must reclaim them as well. However its claim that it owns the whole of the
South China sea is ‘inconceivable’ and ‘unfounded’. U cannot own waters that include the 70
Nautical miles off the coasts of over 5 countries. This is impossible and too contravenes the UN
Charter on the law of the sea which gives every country that has a coastline 70 nautical miles into
The sea as part of those x-try’s territories. However China has claimed these waters unabated  and has even
Put military bases and built cities there. This is unacceptable and shows that China is kind of aggressive
Though to some people it’s a move to protect her economic interests.
3.       When it comes to technological thefts, I believe that China is doing what other countries have done
In the past especially when at this crucial stage of development. The US and the Soviet Union stole
A lot technologies from Germany and Japan after winning over the two countries at the end of World war II
Its this technology that supported the robust development of their economies and militaries in the
Post-world war II era/cold war. All the plans of space exploration and nuclear had been laid down
By Hitler and were some of the key technologies stolen from Berlin. USSR stole US’ technology on the
Development of a nuclear weapon just as the US did on USSR’s technology on Intercontinental missiles
And hydrogen bombs. These countries took a lot of time developing these technologies and don’t expect
China to take the same period developing the same yet there some hungry US and Russian scientists
That can provide these technologies to Chinese scientists on a mere release of a few dollars.
4.       On the Issue of dominating world affairs, we just have to wait and see how good China plays
its cards. Otherwise, I believe that these guys will get there. The US is already miscalculating by wasting more
of its GDP on defense as opposed to China which is only spending less than 5% a factor that led to the demise of the Soviet Union. US debt is now at over 15trillion almost a half bigger than the level during Bush’s time. This
is a time bomb. If you have been following
CNN’s coverage of the China transition, you will understand what I mean. The entire nation  (china) is being built on
A basis of furthering the interests of a superpower from high school students, college students to University
Professors. People in China have been taught how to love and cherish their country and trust me these
Guys are willing to do anything for their country. Their reaction to Japan’s claims on Diaoyu island was just
A tip of what they are capable of doing. Instead of investing in areas like cultures and FDIs to maintain a
Dominant state in world affairs, the US is instead becoming confrontational in a bid to stop China from taking
Her position. She is now branding CHINESE technology giants like HUA-WEI and ZTE as spy agents of the Chinese government, accusations that are baseless and just a move to deny them leveled competitiveness.

NB. Despite all the above, I too agree that China is still falling short on a few areas like Human rights, democracy
And a clear-minded foreign policy but am hopeful that it’s cautious about them.
